We are Communities for Childbirth International.
Our mission is to improve maternal, reproductive, and child health in sub-Saharan Africa.
Every day, 830 mothers die due to complications during pregnancy and childbirth–and most are highly preventable. 99% of these deaths occur in middle-to-low income countries.

Our Initiatives
-
Village Health Education
We developed an image-based reproductive health education program, and are currently implementing it in Jinja City, Uganda.
-
Health Education through Religious Services
We have partnered with Muslim and Christian leaders to create a health curriculum that can be taught during religious services.
-
Reproductive Health Research
We conduct research in two main areas: tracking the efficacy of our programs, and closing the gaps in maternal and child health knowledge.
-
CCI Think Tank Program
We have launched a global collaboration platform for young leaders from sub-Saharan nations to improve reproductive health research.
